By Josh Reese

UFC 148 is home to the world Middleweight championship fight between arch rivals Anderson Silva and Chael Sonnen, as well the final fight for Tito Ortiz. Before those fights as well as the main card ones, there are 4 preliminary fights on FX and before those is the fight between Cuban Yoislandy Izquierdo and Brazillan Rafaello Oliveira on facebook. Izquierdo and Oliveira will serve as the only warm up for the FX, and Pay Per Fights that will follow.

Izquierdo (6-1) is coming off his first loss after a 6-0 start to his career, after his submission loss to Reza Madadi at UFC on Fuel TV 2 Izquierdo told us there have been some changes to his camp,“My head coach Manuel Lopez and I left to go train in American Top Team Kendall but I remained at Zen Jiu Jitsu with the great Enrico Cocco. We have made changes in my training, mostly in increasing my wrestling and Jiu-Jitsu.”
Oliveira (14-5) is the grizzled veteran and has fought some tough competition, Izquierdo told us it doesn’t really matter if he is a veteran “To be honest my mindset is on doing my best in order to become a champion. I don’t think on whether my performance will be different based on who I face.”

After his loss in the UFC his only goal is to win unfortunately the loss didn’t make him feel great, telling us “The loss did not give me a good feeling obviously but I quickly had to accept that this is part of the game and I had to get back to training. I turned the loss into a positive and focused on where I needed to polish my training.”

The jitters are over he told us, “I actually feel happy and very excited because I get to be part of such a great show.” Izquierdo finished the interview saying.
