For those of you who haven’t lived under a rock for the year of 2011 know full well that the UFC and Fox signed a multi-year contract to bring the UFC to major network television. We have already had the Fox teaser back in November which featured Junior Dos Santos vs. Cain Velasquez for the UFC Heavyweight Championship which ended very quickly.

However, in 2012, they are certainly making up for that.

Out of the next six UFC events, three of those will be featured either on Fox or the Fox affiliate, FX.

Starting this month with UFC on FX 1 featuring Melvin Guillard vs. Jim Miller in the main event and Duane Ludwig vs. Josh Neer in the co-main event. UFC on FX 1 will take place Friday, January 20th.

Very soon after (eight days to be exact), one of the best already scheduled cards of 2012 will take place as UFC on Fox 2 will come to us live from the United Center in Chicago, IL.

This card has all sorts of title implications on it as the main event will be a featured light heavyweight contest featuring Rashad Evans taking on Phil Davis, while the co-main event features Chael Sonnen vs. Mark Munoz in a middleweight bout. Also featured on the card is another middleweight contest featuring Michael Bisping who is on a four fight win streak taking on the always dangerous Damien Maia. UFC on Fox 2 will take place on Saturday, January 28th.

Then just over a month from that card the UFC returns to FX from Sydney, Australia with UFC on FX 2. That main event of that card will feature a welterweight match up between Thiago Alves and Martin Kampmann. That fight is sure to have fireworks!

So not only is the UFC bringing three cards to free TV rather quickly in 2012, but the cards they are bringing have top notch fights all over them.

Certainly, in early 2012, mixed martial arts should gather some new fans as the UFC will be all over broadcast television right off the bat in 2012.
