UFC on FOX 4 Pro’s Picks

By Josh Reese

Do to the craziness of the Light Heavyweight division we have a former LWH on hand for the pro’s picks for UFC on FOX 4. Tom DeBlass is making his way down to Middleweight but before he does here is his and my opinion on how these 3 LWH fights will go down!

Prelim

Light Heavyweight bout: Phil Davis (9-1) vs. Wagner Prado (8-0)

Tom – I have to go with Phil Davis. World class wrestler and great submission skills. Prado is tough but I see Davis grinding out a submission.

FNM – Davis, this will be the biggest fight of Prado life the nerves and lack of big fights get the best Prado. Anyone can get caught, but Davis has taken on the biggest names in the game, Prado hasn’t.

Main Card
Light Heavyweight bout Co-Main event: Lyoto Machida (17-3)vs. Ryan Bader (14-2)

Tom – I think Lyoto will KO Bader. Lyoto has great takedown defense and I believe he will catch Bader in the second round.

FNM – Machida, everyone is counting out Bader….. And so do we Bader’s two wins have been a over the hill Jason Brilz, and a disinterested Quinton Jackson. Yes Machida really hasn’t betting anyone since 2009, to his credit he has only faced Champions and ex Champions in his past 6 fights and we went 3-3.

Light Heavyweight bout Main event: Maurício Rua (20-6) vs.Brandon Vera (12-5-1-NC)

Tom – I have to go with Rua by KO. I believe he is a better striker.

FNM – Rua, the brazillans make a clean sweep… I hate to be rude or mean but this is one of the biggest mismatches in UFC history…. This is either the UFC helping Rua get a win after his epic fight against Hedo, or UFC wanting to give FOX an epic beat down.

Tom is leaving the Light Heavyweight division after his fight with Nick Penner was called off due to, Penner pulling out of UFC on Fuel, but he is now moving his way down to Middleweight “I am very excited about debuting at 185” said Tom. At 5’11 he wasn’t the biggest guy in the world at LWH case and point his last fight was against 6’6 Cyrille Diabate who beat him via unanimous decision. “These guys at lightheavy weight were huge, the heaviest I’d be was 215. I’m currently 207 and feel great.” He doesn’t have a fight yet, but he is ready for anyone “I’ll fight who they tell me to fight”
