UFC 153 of UFC Rio 3 just got a whole lot more Brazillan October 13, at the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil is were the fight will take place. The card just recently got a Light Heavyweight fight between Glover Teixeira disgruntled employee Quinton Jackson. For a while it was a possibility the UFC Heavyweight belt would be up for grabs in Rio but that seems unlikely, as the Featherweight belt will be on the line. Jose Aldo and Erik Koch will meet in Rio, this fight was originally booked for UFC 149 but Aldo was pulled for injury and should be ready for Rio.
Also confirmed for the card Lightweights Cristiano Marcello vs. Reza Madadi. It is rumored that two highly ranked Flyweights will make there UFC debut here Jussier da Silva vs. Ulysses Gomez. One other fight being mentioned at the moment is the original TUF Brazil Middleweight finale match up between Cezar Ferreira vs. Daniel Sarafian.
Aldo (21-1) has not lost since 2005 and is riding a crazy 14 fight win streak. He holds the current UFC Featherweight belt and he also held the last WEC Featherweight belt. Aldo during his win streak has faced few powder puffs, he has faced former champions in Mike Brown and Urijah Faber and pulled off wins. Aldo has defended his belt 5 times 2 times in the WEC and 3 times in the UFC. He will now fight back to back in Rio.
Koch (13-1) will be trying to do what no one on earth seems to be able to do… Beat Jose Aldo. Koch’s only loss came to a man Aldo just beat (Chad Mendes). Koch is in the midst of a four fight win streak with wins over Bendy Casimir, Francisco Rivera, Raphael Assunção and Jonathan Brookins. In that win streak he has 3 finishes along with 2 KO of the night. Koch has a very difficult task ahead of him. It should be noticed if he does pull out due to an injury he will quickly be replaced with the Korean Zombie
