On this card there are 2 fights that matter…. The Middleweight division is getting more and more stacked by the fight, we are in the search for the next great fighter who can challenge the mighty Anderson Silva (33-4). Now four guys who are in a sorta mini tournament for the number one contender fight, Tim Boetsch (16-4) vs. Costa Philippou (11-2-1NC) and Yushin Okami (27-7) vs. Alan Belcher (18-6). It features two of the top ten and four of the top twenty, now its set for Boetsch and Belcher to have good fights and the winner will then be on a 5 fight win streak and could be in a number on contenders fight coming soon.
Belcher is a winner of his last four fights and since his entertaining split decision loss to Yoshihiro Akiyama, he has finished four straight guys. Okami on the other hand since fighting for the belt against the champ lost his fight to Tim Boetsch in an epic come from behind win, but won his last fight to Buddy Roberts via TKO.
Boetsch since coming down to Middleweight has won 4 straight and is undefeated at 185 he has beaten two of the top ten fighters in his last two fights and ended Hector Lombard’s epic win streak. Philippou like Belcher and Boetsh is on a underrated 4 fight win streak too, he has used his boxing style to push his way into the top 20.
