The Fight That Matters

By Josh Reese

The UFC on FX 4 Featherweight matchup between Ricardo Lamas and Hatsu Hioki is the fight that matters. Hioki the man once in line to face Jose Aldo told the UFC he wanted one more fight before he gets his fight with Aldo. Lamas can leap frog a lot of guys in front of him if he pulls off the upset against Hioki.

Hioki (26-4-2) has owned the TKO, Shooto and Sengoku belts and was considered the best Featherweight not in the UFC. He has had two fights in the UFC, he got a split decision win against George Roop in a lackluster performance for his 1st fight. He later faced Bart Palaszewski and pulled off a better performance and got a unanimous decision win.

Lamas (11-2) a WEC veteran suffered his only two losses during his stint in the Zuffa absorbed organization. A former Lightweight he is now 2-0 in the UFC and as a Featherweight with a TKO over Matt Grice. His most recent fight against Cub Swanson won him the submission of the night. He will look forward to continue his finishing style.
