UFC Rio 3 or UFC 153 gets its first announced bout. Quinton Jackson will take on Glover Teixeira, the card will take place on October 13, 2012 at the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Jackson and Teixeira are a good lock to be part of the PPV card.
Quinton Jackson the outspoken former champ has complained numerous times on facing a grinder, someone who isnt willing to trade and bang with him. Jackson in his final fight of his career will get a very tough up and comer in Glover Teixeira. Teixeira is on a 16 fight win streak, with 10 of those fights ending with his hands. Jackson is 0-2 but in his last two fights, he went 4 rounds with champion Jon Jones for the belt but was forced to tap, and then in Japan faced Ryan Bader and lost a 3 round unanimous decision.
Per fightmatrix.com has Jackson rated as the number 7 Light Heavyweight and Teixeira at number 20 this is a fairly even fight. Jackson in his swan song will get someone that is not afraid to stand and trade with him.
