Nogueira pulls out against Kongo

Injury bug strikes again at the UFC 149 card, Big Nog pulls out of his scheduled fight against Cheick Kongo. 149 has already suffered a big hit with Jose Aldo pulling out due to an injury. The Bantamweight interim Championship replaced Jose Aldo, and now Shawn Jordan replaces Big Nog. Jordan a former LSU Tiger fullback, steps in on semi short notice to face a great kickboxer in Cheick Kongo, Kongo comes in off a lose to another talented kickboxer in Mark Hunt at UFC 144 in Japan via a 1st round TKO.

Jordan also is coming off an overseas win, where he fought Oli Thompson in his UFC debut in the land down under at UFC FX 2 he via a second round TKO. He came into that fight beating slugger Lavar Johnson in Strikeforce with a second round submission. Kongo and Jordan will both make back to back trips out of the country as 149 will be held in Calgary, Alberta, Canada on July 21. The fight will be part of the main card on pay per view.
