Michael Bisping pulled from UFC 149

By Josh Reese

In the mad dash yesterday to find a replacement for Hector Lombard to fight, the name Michael Bisping was floated about. That idea was quickly squashed when it was found out the Bisping himself had an injury. So in order to not scrap two top Middleweight bouts in less then month the UFC instead will move Lombard to the 149 card in Canada and we will now face Tim Boetsch (15-4).

Boetsch is coming of one of the biggest fight comebacks ever against Japanese superstar Yushin Okami via a 3rd round TKO, and is riding 3 fight win streak. His other 2 two wins coming from Nick Ring and Kendall Grove both via unanimous decisions.

Lombard is a promotional newcomer but is considered a top 5 middleweight in the world, and could be a fight or two away from fighting for the middleweight belt. Lombard has not lost since 2007 and held the Bellator belt before vacating it to enter the UFC.
