MFC 34 took place where it always does in Alberta, Canada the Mayfield Inn was rocking for AXS TV. The card was light but it was heavy on finishes and action. To talk about MFC 34 you have to take a step back and know what happened in MFC 33. Mukai Maromo and Adam Lynn were the headliners for tonight’s fights, but they met 3 months before at MFC 33 and it ended in a very surprising split decision in favor of Maromo. Tonight was supposed to Lightweight championship fight between the two, but due to Lynn coming in overweight it was changed to a non-title bout.
The fight went a little bit differently than last time, with this time Maromo getting the finish in the second round. Maromo before the fight predicted it and it happened, tonight he did not leave it to the judges, and his next fight will be for the belt. MFC for this event also restarted its Heavyweight division with Tim Hague and Mike Hackert, Hackert the smaller Heavyweight weighed in at 222.2 pounds to Hague 262. And the smaller Hackert TKO’d the bigger Hague thus completing their rematch both going to Hackert.
The Middleweight title fight will be on the line in the next MFC event and Elvis Mutapcic will take on Joseph Henle both guys fought tonight and like all fights tonight both guys finished their opponents. Elvis Mutapcic TKO’d Jacen Flynn and Joseph Henle TKO’d Luke Harris.
Also getting wins were (Catchweight 190) Jason Zentgraf forced Cody Krahn to tap to a RNC in the very beginning of the 1st round. Top Welterweight prospect Dhiego Lima decision’d Nick Hinchliffe. All and all a good free card, and next week Legacy will be on deck.
