Jimy Hettes’ replacement is none other then Joey Gambino (9-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC). Siler posted the news on his Facebook page. As of now it’s our understanding the fight with Gambino and Siler has not been signed yet. As other sites have reported the reason for Hettes’ withdraw was not stated however, Fat Ninja Media confirmed last night that it was due to an undisclosed injury.
Gambino has been on a terror in the featherweight world outside of the UFC and is a top featherweight prospect. His record is somewhat that of Hettes in terms of being unbeaten but not of finished percentage. This is a tough first fight for Gambino but should still be a great match up.
All of us here wish Jimy Hettes a speedy and healthy recovery and look forward to seeing him back in the Octagon in the near future!
Rumors have been circulating about UFC featherweight, Jimy Hettes (10-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC) possibly having to pull out of his UFC on FX 4 bout with Steven Siler (20-9 MMA, 2-0 UFC).
Sources close to the situation has confirmed with Fat Ninja Media, that an undisclosed injury has forced Hettes out of the upcoming bout which would have been his 3rd contest under the UFC banner.
At this moment, no replacement has been named nor has the type of injury. Please stay tuned to Fat Ninja Media as this story unfolds.
Hettes, who made his debut in August of 2011 against “Bruce Leroy” has had a short yet very successful showing in his two UFC bouts by submitting Alex Caceres and completely dominating Nam Pham at UFC 141 back in December.
