Gustaffson earns a shot at the belt

Alexander Gustaffson is a bad dude.

Saturday in England reaffirmed what we already knew. The Mauler is the leading candidate to break “bones” reign atop the Light Heavyweight throne.

And no Jon, Jimi Manuwa is no “can.” The Poster Boy landed solid shots on the Mauler’s chin however he kept coming. Any lesser contender would’ve crumbled under the power displayed by Manuwa but Gustaffson worked his magic, displaying a crisp boxing game to go along with his improved wrestling.

He was on his A game all night and proved to be superior to the previously unbeaten and laid his claim as the next challenger to the Light Heavyweight Championship. Look for the fight to be in the fall and for it to be just as competitive as his first, of course assuming that Jon Jones defeats the juggernaut that is Glover Teixeira.

Many UFC fans rejoice, the most wanted rematch other than GSP/Hendricks may be on your screens soon.
