George Roop out at UFC 149

UFC 149 in Canada has seen its share of injuries, and they are getting one more injury. George Roop has pulled out of his bout against Antonio Carvalho. In steps exciting Featherweight Daniel Pineda, who once again will step in on short notice and bail the UFC out of a jam. UFC 149 will be headlined by Urijah Faber vs Renan Barao for the Interim Bantamweight Championship, the winner will face Dominic Cruz when he is healthy.

Carvalho (13-5) Hatsu Hioki once was considered a top five fighter and Caralho was one of the men to defeat him. Carvalho is 0-1 in the UFC and his last fight was against Felipe Arantes on facebook for UFC 142 he lost a unanimous decision. He will now have the home court advantage and look for the win.

Pineda (17-8) a Legacy fights stand out, is 2-1 in the year, and 2-1 in the UFC. He came on strong and got wins against Pat Schilling, and Mackens Semerzier. His last fight however was a 3 round war against WEC Featherweight standout and former Champion Mike Brown, and lost a unanimous decision 29-28 but it really could have went either it was fight of the night worthy.
