FNM Poll: If Eddie Alvarez Resigns With Bellator, Should He Have To Compete In A Tournament To Get Another Title Shot?

Most of the best lightweights in the world compete in the UFC and with Eddie Alvarez only having two fights left on his current contract with Bellator, will we see him inside the Octagon in 2013?

If Eddie Alvarez (22-3 MMA, 6-1 BFC) resigns with Bellator, where is he within that division? Alvarez’ next fight will take place at Bellator 66 where he will try to avenge his 2008 loss to Shinya Aoki. After that fight, he has six months to fight his last fight with Bellator on his current contract.

The UFC has expressed interest in Alvarez in the past but with the recent loss to Chandler, it sort of put thing to a halt.

Alvarez has requested a rematch with Chandler but Bellator CEO, Bjorn Rebney holds firm on the Bellator tournament format.

If Eddie Alvarez does not leave Bellator after his contract is up, should he has to compete in a lightweight tournament in order to earn another shot? Vote now and let us know what you think!
