Fedor v Rizzo Today

By Josh Reese

Fedor Emelianenko (33-4-1NC) recently was quoted as saying this could be his last fight, Pedro Rizzo (19-9) could be his very last opponent. They will square off in a bout between two old timers Emelianenko at 35 and Rizzo at 39. Below is a video of the weigh in.

Emelianenko once considered the baddest man on earth, a medalist in Sambo and Judo. He once once the owner of a 27 fight win streak and the holder the Pride Heavyweight belt. After losing 3 of 4 fights in StrikeForce, he is now 2-0 away from the promotion with wins over Jeff Monson, and Satoshi Ishii.

Rizzo unlike Emelianenko made it to the UFC and fought for the belt 3 times, but lost all 3 times losing a decision and fight of the year to Randy Couture and a TKO to Couture. He was also’d decision’d against Kevin Randleman for the belt all in the beginning of the UFC. Rizzo was on a 3-0 run but currently hasn’t fought since 2010.
