Bellator 85 recap

By Josh Reese

You have heard for so long, MMA is coming home to Spike… Not only did it come home it was a fairly good showing for Bellator after leaving MTV2. Bellator had on hand two title fights and on the opening bout of the main card on Spike, Patricio Freire and Pat Curran tangoed to the tune of 5 hard fought rounds and at the end the champ Pat Curran was able to retain his belt via a narrow split decision. The main attraction of the night was the return of Michael Chandler and the continued dominance of the champ, the wrestler was able to out power and out technique the Judo Olympian Rick Hawn by way of a rear naked choke in the 2nd round. Chandler remains undefeated and gets his 3rd straight finish.
