Bellator 74 Thoughts from a Bellator vet

By Josh Reese

Bellator 74 kicks off the season 7 Welterweight tournament, with newer faces we thought it best to talk to an expert about this Welterweight field. Rick Hawn an All Star for Bellator offers his thoughts on the division he used to call home. The fights will take place this Friday on MTV 2, in Atlantic City, New Jersey

The Welterweight field
Lyman Good (12-2) vs Jim Wallhead (23-6)
Michail Tsarev (23-2) vs Tim Welch (9-3)
Jordan Smith (17-3-1) vs Andrey Koreshkov (10-0)
Nordine Taleb (8-1) vs Marius Zaromskis (18-6)

“I think this season’s WW tourney is going to be great. There are a few big name guys and a few more that are under the radar. I am really looking forward to watching it and will be rooting for my Tristar teammate, Nordine Taleb” Hawn shared. Good and Wallhead’s both most recent loss came to the former Olympian, with that knowledge we had to ask Hawn to give us his opinion on the two. “This is going be a very exciting fight and I am looking forward to watching it.” “I think Good has better technical striking but Wallhead has some good hands too and can take a punch.” Hawn believes Wallhead will just edge by Good, and also offered that Wallhead was one of the toughest fighters he was faced.

If you are ready for Rick Hawn vs. Michael Chandler, so is Hawn but we will have to wait till the cross over to Spike prime time. Hawn and Chandler will meet on the very first Spike card in January after its run with MTV 2 is over.
