Another match up had been added to the UFC 148 card.

Renan Barao (28-1 MMA, 3-0 UFC) and Jeff Hougland (10-4 MMA, 1-0 UFC) have verbally agreed to meet at the rapidly growing card of UFC 148.

Barao, who is on one of the most impressive win streaks in the history of MMA (28) his making his 4th appearance within the UFC but 6th under the Zuffa banner as he had two fights in the Zuffa owned WEC as well. Barao is coming off of a unanimous decision victory over Scott Jorgensen at UFC 143 and a 4th straight victory in the UFC and 29th straight victory over all, will certainly elevate him into the upper class of the UFC Bantamweight’s division current ruled by champion, Dominick Cruz.

Hougland, who hasn’t fought since July of 2011 is making his 2nd appearance within the UFC. He (Hougland) has a successful UFC debut victory over Donny Walker at UFC 132. Hougland had a rough professional start going just 1-4 in his first five fights but has not lost since March of 2005 and is currently on an impressive win streak of his own which is a nine fight winning streak.

Both men will be searching to end the other’s streak of success in this bantamweight match up.

UFC 148 takes place July 7 at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena.
